Location and Surroundings Kuří

It lies in the microregion, named after the important person of Czech culture the writer Josef Lada, Lada County. There is a pond, remnants of folk architecture, memorial, the cross and remains of three slate quarries around the village. It is surrounded by fields, meadows, and forests in National Nature Reserve Voděradské bučiny. The area is ideal for walking along many marked hiking trails and there is almost 150km of marked bike trails that lead through the major tourist destination. There is the bicycle path No 0027 and No 8100 lead through the village as well as The Prague Circle. Pension in Ravines owns lockable secure storage space for bicycles. Name of the place was created because there were many partridges or while driving on the main road which is above the village only smoke was seen rising from chimneys cottages.

 

Ruins Říčany

is one of the oldest stone castles in our country, built in 1260-1270 as a rare miniature gothic royal castle type. In the 16th century remained uninhabited and completely abandoned. The lower part of his palace served as a reservoir of food, weapons and ammunition. The main room served as living room for a noble family on the second floor. It was heated by a massive fireplace and a modestly equipped with a chest of drawers which, initially, served as a bed, a few chairs, large table and toilet in the bay. Here took place all family and social life. Castles of this age are now mostly preserved only in plan. Almost the entire front yard of the palace have been preserved here, corner of donjon (tower) and covered well in the middle of the courtyard.

The Castle and Park Pruhonice

- pseudo-renaissance style of the castle in the style of Czech Renaissance is a relic of a medieval castle. There are many arcades which decorate the west wing of the castle. The original Romanesque church became a part of the castle grounds. Large closed to the public chateau is surrounded by the park of 19century, there in the ground floor is a permanent exhibition about The Earl Sylva Tarouc, history of the castle and park, which is one of the largest natural landscape parks in Europe. It is a National Heritage Site and UNESCO Protected Area. The I.Czech Museum of Cycling

is placed in the Baroque granary in the castle grounds in Nové Hrady at Litomyšl. Czech collector shows many bicycles from the mid 19th century from his private collection. There are bicycles – boneshakers from the Austro-Hungarian Empire to the present day, including accessories and unique attractions. The Štiřín Chateau

It was built on the site of a medieval fortress in the 18th century. Since 1870 the castle belonged to industrialist Franz Ringhoffer. Present form is from around 1900, when it was adapted by architect J. Stibral in late Baroque style. The castle is storeyed building with mansard roof. There on a northwest side of the chateau is the chapel from 1775 decorated with frescoes. The chateau currently serves as a luxury hotel. The freely accessible park spaces adjacent to golf links which have a long tradition of this place.

Quarries near Žernovka

several, mostly abandoned and flooded quarries can be found about 5 km from Říčany in the wider vicinity of the village Žernovka. If you go from Mukařov just on the border of Žernovka turn to the left toward Doubek, there are some flooded sand quarries with filtered clean water.

At the top of Žalov is the observatory founded in 1905. There is located one of the largest telescopes in Europe. Observatory Park is surrounded by rare trees. Řepora – Medieval Village

is a village between Stodůlky and Řeporyje, and was created as a replica of the village from the 14th century. It is built using contemporary construction techniques and only from natural materials. It is surrounded by a wooden palisade with an entrance gate and towers. There is a farm bailiff, tavern, pottery, blacksmith, fisherman and crofter. You can visit a chapel with cemetery, a hill with a gallows and cult place with a sacred tree. Koněprusy Caves

are known as the longest cave-system in the Czech Republic. There were discovered many animal bones and rare archaeological findings. The main cave were formed 25 to 30million years ago and the oldest surviving decoration is older than 1million years. Caves are also likely to serve as a shelter to various animals, others failed to underground stacks. There was a secret coin counterfeiting work operated in the upper floor in the 15th century, where about 10 thousand false coins were made. Open daily 8-4pm. FEECZK 130, seniors, children half.

The Konopiště Chateau

The predecessor of today’s chateau was the Konopiště castle originated in the late 13th century. The castle had a rich history. In 1887 the chateau was bought future successor to the Austrian throne Franz Ferdinand d’Este. Castle rooms were equipped with museum collections whose basis comes from the legacy of Franz Ferdinand Duke of Modena.  The successor also gathered a large number of art collections and hunting trophies. Since 1918 the castle belongs to the state. The premises of the baroque garden was built the Rose Garden with greenhouses. Open daily except Monday, from about 10-4pm. Admissionfrom CZK 90 to 310.

The Dobříš Chateau

Rococo castle (preserved, accessible visiting hours, now serves as a luxury hotel – 11 rooms in the style of Rococo and Classicism) comes with a distinctive façade from 1745-1765. The current owner is Mr. Dipl.Ing. Jerome Colloredo-Mansfeld. There is a mirrored hall, stables and a brewery (inaccessible technical monument) in the chateau. The park is a rare example of rococo garden architecture with an atmosphere of Vienna Schönbrun. A Stone Bridge, Devil’s Bridge (length 36 m) with a gloomy atmosphere, has a pair of arches with a span of 7.5 meters and a height of 7.1m, constructed around 1864 of slag. The path leads northward after the prospect. The bridge is freely accessible from the English park around the castle.

Lego Museum Praha

This is a private and the largest museum in the world. Exposes a history of LEGO toys, which boasts the title of a toy’s. It shows more than 2500 exposed original models (the oldest from the year 1955), many accesories, and interesting things around the toy.

The Petřin Steeple

The steeple in Prague on the Petrin Hill is the younger sister of the Eiffel Tower, built two years after completion of the tower elegant Paris (1891) reaches a height 378m over the sea.
